About me:
Hello, I'm Jeremy, owner of JF-Fabrication. I am a builder, a tinkerer. I make things, the cooler, the more custom, the better. The challenge of creating a physical thing from a concept is my driving purpose.
In school I studied art, because it allowed me to make things, but I found myself hanging out in the engineering department and its shops because I wanted to make things that do things. The art department had some basic equipment, welders in good service and other basic tools, but the engineering department had lathes. As well as other precision tools.
I chased my passion to create into the motion picture industry. First building scenery and then creating special effects. Motion picture scenery can be incredible, one gets asked to create new worlds, with spaceships and any other fantastical thing a person can imagine. Still, special effects intrigue me even more, there is an inherent dynamism that static scenery lacks. The scenery just sits there, unmoving, the effect moves, it works. That interaction is important to me. A person interacting, using, appreciating something I've built matters to me.
As much as I enjoy the pace and constant challenge that motion picture work affords me, it lacks permanence. No matter how well-conceived or finely-crafted a thing may be, the piece's physical existence is moot once the project is completed. The most honest response to: "what are you making" is...
Future trash.
Therefor useless once the final edit is complete.
The goal of JF Fabrication is to make something lasting. Pieces crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail that they can be enjoyed in real life, for the ages. From the smallest repair job that gets you back going, to the grandest piece imaginable, I will produce the finest work imaginable. If you can dream it, I am ready to make it reality.
Let's build something together. Something lasting, beautiful, functional... pick your superlative.
